The 6 Best Self-Healing Cutting Mats for Sewing & Quilting

Recently, I went to grab my cutting mat for a quick sewing project and realized the mat was just about cut in half. I’ve had it for a few years, so it was much overdue, but since I hadn’t purchased one in some time, I figured I’d do my homework and try to find the one that best fit my needs.

The Ultimate Guide to DIY Christmas Gifts

By  •  Christmas

They say the economy has turned around recently. Job reports are looking good. People are smiling and not taking out financial frustrations on loved ones as often. Even consumer spending around the holidays is on the up and up.

But let’s be real. Buying Christmas gifts can add up quickly, especially if yours is one of those families that has no problem reproducing and growing at a rate that seems, at times, out of control. We are also one of those families.

In any case, going the DIY route when it comes to Christmas gifts is a great way to make your holiday budget go as far as possible. But it also tells people, look, I made this thing for you. I spent my time – WHICH I CAN NEVER GET BACK – on you. So…take that for what it is.

If that’s the way you’re going to play things this Christmas, and we put ourselves squarely in that group, then here’s a list of more than 70 ideas for DIY Christmas gifts. Some of them are good for anyone (who doesn’t like hot chocolate?), and others are better for kids, elderly folks, or significant others.

Some of them are good for friends, teachers and those people on the gray area of your network that are kind of like acquaintances but also more like strangers because you’d never in a million years include them in the list of people that gets a phone call as soon as you hear you’re pregnant or have contracted some rare disease that scientists are to this day questioning whether or not it actually exists (it’s all in your head).

So without further ado, here’s MostCraft’s Ultimate Guide to DIY Christmas Gifts. In no particular order.

15 DIY Fall Wreaths to Cozy Up Your Home

15 DIY Fall Wreaths to Cozy Up Your Home

DIY fall wreaths

Albert Camus once said that “autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.”

Personal philosophies aside, we agree. Even though fall seems like a time of winding down and preparing for the dark days of winter, it’s also a fun time to see the transition in nature. And in people. Some people get weird this time of year. Sometimes that’s a good weird, other times it’s a scary one. But that’s why they say different strokes for different folks.

Anyway, we love fall and we love wreaths, so without further ado, here’s a collection of DIY fall wreaths that we found to be particularly inspiring this year. Enjoy!

7 DIY Sock Puppets That Will Rock Your World

7 DIY Sock Puppets That Will Rock Your World

By  •  Kids

Look, growing up, I had no problem with puppets. It’s not like I was afraid of them. It’s just that they sort of kept me up at night if I saw one at any point past 6 p.m. Strange? Yes. But appropriate? Perhaps; considering I grew up in a neighborhood that had, at various points in the last decade, been home to creepy clowns, hunched over ice cream truck drivers and the like.

Needless to say, when we started taking care of our niece a lot, I didn’t want her to feel the same sort of weirdness around puppets that I had. And actually, it turns out she was a big fan of them to begin with. Her mom told us that when she goes to the pediatric dentist, she brings along a few homemade sock puppets to keep her entertained while the dentist does his work.

Not a bad idea.

Anyway, it goes without saying that there are plenty of times in life when you need a good sock puppet distraction. And because not all of us love the polished, coiffed look of a store-bought sock puppet, we have DIY alternatives to fill our days and memories.

After scavenging the world wide web from the comfort of our own home, here are a few DIY sock puppet projects that we thought looked interesting, somewhat creepy, or a combination of both.

26 DIY Ugly Christmas Sweaters That Prove You’re Awesome
